NERAIL Photo Archive - Contacting the Archive Maintainer
Contacting Jeff, the Archive Maintainer:
|
PLEASE READ ALL THE FOLLOWING BEFORE CONTACTING THE ARCHIVE MAINTAINER!!!
- If you are using either Yahoo! or America Online (which includes Netscape.net as well) as
your email provider, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO POST PHOTOS TO THE PHOTO ARCHIVE OR CONTACT ME VIA THIS FORM. Both of these companies
have blocked the NERAIL Photo Archive web site from sending email to their customers. This has been done by both of these companies without
any explanation to me of why they are doing so, and despite the fact that the NERAIL Photo Archive is not a source of Spam, and in fact has
never been the source of even a single, solitary piece of Spam. Both companies have been completely uncooperative and unwilling to work
with me when I have tried to contact them, in fact America online will not even respond to my emails or return my telephone calls. I have
invested dozens and dozens of hours of my time in trying to fight this, and thus far have gotten absolutely nowhere with either of these
companies, so unfortunately there really is nothing I can do about this. As a paying customer of theirs, I urge you to contact them and
ask them to stop unfairly blocking email from legitimate sources such as the NERAIL Photo Archive!
- If you have lost your Photo Archive contributor password or forgotten your login ID, please try using the
Automated Password Retrieval Form
before contacting me. It is a much easier and faster way to get your password restored, and will
help me out greatly because of the overwhelming volume of lost password related e-mails I receive every day.
- Please take a look at the Frequently Asked Questions page before contacting me with a
question. Many common questions about the Photo Archive are already answered there!
- Very Important: If you are contacting me about a specific photograph, please include the Photo ID in your
message.
The Photo ID is a unique number assigned to each photo in the archive. It is shown in the lower right-hand corner
beneath each photo, and looks like this: "PHOTO ID=06480". There are almost one hundred thousand
photographs in the archive, and often there are hundreds of new photos posted on any given day. Without the Photo ID,
I will not be able to find the photo you are writing about. Please note that I will
not reply to e-mails about a specific photograph that do not include the Photo ID! I simply do not have enough time to
search through the thousands of photos in the archive trying to find a photograph based only on it's description. Sorry to
sound unfriendly, but if you can
not be bothered taking a few seconds to provide this simple piece of information that will greatly help me out, then I am not
willing to spend my own time looking for the photo for you.
- You may easily edit the photographs you have contributed, or remove a photo from the Photo Archive altogether,
simply by selecting the "Edit This Information" link, shown below every photograph.
I'll be happy to help out if
folks have difficulty editing their photos, however I receive an overwhelming amount of e-mail due to the popularity of the
Photo Archive (usually dozens of e-mails per day), and in most cases it is much faster to edit your photos yourself when
possible, rather than having me make changes, so please give this a shot first, before contacting me.
- I get really annoyed by people who value my time so little that they refuse to actually take a minute to read these few
paragraphs of text before contacting me, and then write to me to ask the very same questions that are already answered right here in
this box. I guess it's just a pet peeve of mine, since I have so little free time to begin with. So in order to stop that from
happening, you will be asked to enter an "authorization code" below before being able to send me a message, to ensure you have read
this. The authorization code is "zzg". Thank you for your understanding and cooperation! :-)
- If you are trying to get in touch with one of the photographers who has photographs on this site, there is a link
available beneath most photos to allow you to contact the person who contributed the photo. If there is no
link under a particular photo, it means that I do not have a valid e-mail address for the photographer, and therefore I
will not be able to put you in touch with the photographer, since I have no way to contact them myself. I do not maintain a
database of phone numbers or other contact information for contributors, only their e-mail addresses. Sorry. :-(
Thanks!
