Buckeye Lake - Port Authority Transit 1976

It's an LRV! It's a PCC! It's... well, it's a PCC. In 1975 Pittsburgh rebuilt a handful of air-electric PCC cars with modern LRV-style front ends for testing purposes; one was this car, originally 1603 (built in 1945 by St. Louis) but renumbered 1976 during its rebuilding. In the 1980's it found its way to the Buckeye Lake Trolley farm, where it has been stored ever since. Photo by Jim Vaitkunas, posted with permission.
