What if the railroad in my photo isn't available in the list of choices?

If you find that you have a photo of a railroad that is not currently in the list, please feel free to contact the Photo Archive maintainer, and he will be happy to add the railroad to the list so you can contribute your photos.

In the past, it was possible for new railroad names to be added directly by contributors. Simple typing errors, name abbreviations, and differences of opinions over proper railroad names ("Boston & Maine" vs. "Boston and and Maine" vs. "B + M" vs. "B&M" vs. "B. & M." for example) all contributed to the list of railroads becoming extremely large and disorganized, and sometimes made it difficult to find photos of a particular railroad. By removing this option and maintaining a carefully edited list of railroad names from now on, the archive maintainer hopes to avoid this problem in the future.
